I moved duffy’s site over to php from javascript. wow, my first php page… aren’t you impressed…

ok, I’ve added the flickrRSS plugin to place a little filmstrip of photos in the sidebar. I had to make a small change to the source (hard coding my flickr user id), since I couldn’t figure out how to specify a tag and a user, and when I tried to specify a tag of shawn without a user, I got a picture of some random topless guy with his hand i-don’t-want-to-speculate-where which won’t work for me, or for bob since this experiment is to get relevant recent pictures onto his pages…

next is to get the name of the post to control what pictures show up…

update 10 minutes later
now I can specify a “photoTag” custom field on my post, and the photos in the sidebar will be my photos with that tag (this post is dedicated to shana… why? just because). I just need to figure out how to make these changes not as changes to the templates but somewhere more global…

woke up dreaming of <h2>s and css and textile again. this really has to stop. i mean I like what i do, but i don’t want to do it in my sleep.

oh, and i’m going to make an effort for all of my subjects to be a song title, band name, or album name from now on. just because i’m a dork

so we were joking about blink and marquee tags and all of the other stupid html crap from the browser war days, and I thought to myself “i wonder if the blink tag still works in firefox” seeing as it rose from the ashes of netscape (whose 8.0 beta is weird and ugly, and chock full of ads right in the application. why why why???) so I present here my own little chunk of www history…

so i woke up yesterday with a splitting headache, which I think was caused by the hour of snoozing before in which i was dreaming of wordpress and php code and html and css… i get enough of that when I’m awake. it reminds me of the vacation where shana and i played so much rummy that i started dreaming about rummy. or when i was 14 and dreamed about my job stuffing papers… but those are at least simple concepts and/or repetitive motions. stuffing papers doesn’t wake me up. php does. damn you php.

can’t I dream about something good like ice cream? or sherilyn fenn?

can I just say that I’m sick of being sick… you’d think after sleeping for pretty much a week straight, I’d be healthy. but no.

i was supposed to buy chris nine inch nails tickets. i forgot. short term memory boy. that’s my name. well, I paid a lot for the tickets now. it better be a good show… kings of leon were awesome tonight, and the opening band - the features were really good too, and I talked to a nice couple from detroit. sharmon and chad…

ok, so I set up a flickr account and added a flickr gallery to this thing. I’m using the flickr gallery plugin. it was written before WordPress 1.5, so the directions to set it up aren’t quite right. it looks a little weird now, but I’ll fix it soon. I added some vegas pictures to test. this will eventually become a way to grab photos of different categories for the confusion charters new site.

ok, so I’m setting up a blog. why? mostly to test stuff that I plan on using on other sites that I will be using WordPress as a content management tool for. the first one is done, it’s the temple that my wife works at…
